The Dunning-Kruger Effect Explained

The Dunning–Kruger effect is a cognitive bias. It affects people with limited experience in a particular area of expertise, causing them to overestimate their abilities in this area. Some researchers have also listed the opposite effect being present in high performers – their tendency to underestimate their skills – to be part of the same effect. In other words, imposter syndrome could just be another part of the Dunning-Kruger effect.
