The Whites Of Their Eyes

The phrase “don’t fire until you see the whites of their eyes” is often attributed to Colonel William Prescott and Colonel Israel Putnam who fought at the Batlle of Bunker Hill on June 17, 1775 as part of the American War of Independence. But… what if that’s not true? What if it’s been said before? Does this change anything? Will history treat them differently?
